What do we do?
The Animal Facility of the Faculty of Pharmacy is a modern research laboratory operating within the Medical University of Lodz. We conduct in vivo as well as in vitro studies in accordance with international standards, holding the GLP certificate and PCA accreditation for research laboratories in accordance with ISO 17025:2018-02.
We are a genetic engineering facility dedicated to the contained use of GMOs. We have a fully equipped operating room and the infrastructure to work with immunocompromised animals.
We are the designated unit responsible for the purchase, breeding, and experimentation conducted on laboratory animals for scientific and educational purposes within the structures of the Medical University of Lodz.
We support the development of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences due to advanced infrastructure and qualified personnel.
Our facility meet all the requirements for purchasing, housing, and working with animals, including use of a sanitary barrier. Furthermore, pursuant to Decision No. 176/2016 of the Minister of the Environment of October 10, 2016, the Animal Facility has obtained an indefinite permit to establish a genetic engineering facility for the contained use of genetically modified organisms classified as hazard category I.
